A favorite bike trail in the DC area, Capital Crescent Trail is a 13-mile paved and crushed stone rail-trail, built on the abandoned railbed of the Georgetown Branch of the B&O Railroad. Traversing from Georgetown to Silver Spring, the Capital Crescent Trail is a beautiful, shaded trail with views of the C & O Canal and neighborhoods of NW Washington, DC.
Enjoy the 184-mile bike journey on the Chesapeake & Ohio Towpath, a National Historic Park that follows the Potomac River between Georgetown and Cumberland, Maryland. Along the way, you can see 19th century locks from the canal's working day and the Great Falls.
